About Me

Hi, I'm Artis. Here's the short version of who you're reading.

I'm a UK-based data leader, and I connect technical data work to business value.

I help teams cut through complex data challenges, give them clarity and direction, and put them in a position to solve the problems that matter. Complexity is where I add the most. It's usually where teams get stuck, and where clear thinking pays off.

My roots are technical, and that's never left me. I still care deeply about doing the work well. But technical excellence only goes so far on its own. The real leverage sits with engaged people: get a team genuinely invested and they deliver far more than the sum of their parts. That was my first multiplier. This past year, AI has become the next, an accelerator layered on top, as long as you keep the human bit at the centre.

I've stayed hands-on throughout, and that's deliberate. It's how I understand the day-to-day challenges my teams face, and what lets me engage with them properly. You can't give a team real direction, or earn their trust, from a distance.

I'm a pragmatist at heart. I care far more about making a difference than making things perfect, and I'd rather put effort where it counts than keep things pure.

This blog is me thinking out loud: leading teams, people and AI as multipliers, and the technical experiments I run along the way. Small bets, fast iteration, keeping what works.
